ESC-S-Bolivar (Venezuela) (Coat of Arms) Hoodie - Design Description
This hoodie features the official Coat of Arms of the Bolívar State in southeastern Venezuela, a vibrant emblem reflecting the region's rich natural, historical, and cultural heritage.
The Shield
The central design is dominated by a shield divided into two distinct fields.
Upper Field (Blue)
The top portion, rendered in blue, evokes the vast skies of the Bolívar region. A striking arc of eight stars graces this field. Seven of these stars commemorate the provinces that championed Venezuela's independence in 1811, while the eighth star specifically represents the province of Guayana.
Lower Field (Gold)
The lower field, depicted in gold, symbolizes the significant gold deposits found in the Guayana region. A golden river, representing the mighty Orinoco River, flows through this section.
The Orinoco River is further highlighted by the inclusion of the Piedra del Medio, a prominent rock formation in the river. Upon this rock sits a figure of an Indigenous woman pouring water from an amphora, signifying the river's abundance.
Flanking Elements
The shield is flanked by significant symbols.
- On the left side, a caduceus, the staff of Hermes, represents commerce.
- To the right, a pick, symbolizes hard work and the mining industry central to the region's economy.
Crest and Surroundings
Above the shield, a radiant triangle containing an eye, set against a silver backdrop, represents the watchful presence of divine providence over the state.
The entire shield is encircled by olive branches, a universal symbol of peace. These branches are bound together by a golden ribbon bearing three important historical dates: July 5, 1811 (Declaration of Venezuelan Independence); February 15, 1819 (Installation of the Congress of Angostura); and December 16, 1863 (Incorporation of Guayana into the Federal Republic), further grounding the design in the history of the region.
