The Heraldic Fields

The central artwork is the shield, divided into three distinct sections, each holding significant symbolism:

• Upper Field: Set against a blue backdrop, this area features an open book inscribed with the Greek letters Alpha and Omega, representing Christ as the beginning and the end. Below this, the intertwined "A" and "M" monogram signifies the Virgin Mary, echoing the "Ave Maria" greeting.
• Lower Left Field: Presented on a silver (argent) field, this section depicts Saint Martin of Tours, the patron saint of the Diocese of Ourense. The scene portrays Saint Martin sharing his cloak with a beggar, an act of charity and compassion.
