Flag of Afghanistan 2013-2021 (Afghanistan) T-Shirt: Design Description
This t-shirt showcases the design of the national flag of Afghanistan as it was flown by the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan from 2013 until the Taliban takeover in 2021.
The Flag's Visual Composition
The flag's design is a striking vertical tricolor. The bands of color, from left to right (the hoist to the fly), consist of black, red, and green. Centered across these three vibrant bands is the intricate national emblem, rendered in crisp white.
Emblem Details: A Symbol of Identity
The centerpiece of the design is the refined emblem, a potent symbol of Afghan national identity. At the top of the emblem, the Shahada, a central declaration of faith, is presented. Below this, the Takbir adds another layer of religious significance.
At the heart of the emblem stands a mosque, complete with its mihrab and minbar, oriented towards Mecca. Behind the mosque, rays of a rising sun radiate outwards. The mosque is flanked by two Afghan flags, presented on either side. Surrounding the mosque are sheaves of wheat, bound together by a ribbon bearing the name "Afghanistan." At the bottom of the emblem, the solar year 1298 (equivalent to 1919 CE) marks Afghanistan’s hard-fought independence.
Symbolic Meaning
The flag's colors hold deep symbolism. Black represents the dark and oppressive past. Red symbolizes the blood shed and the ongoing struggle for independence. Green embodies hope, prosperity, and the nation's Islamic faith. The white emblem conveys faith, unity, and national sovereignty.
This flag design serves as a powerful visual representation of a nation's history, values, and aspirations.
