This striking design presents the official Coat of Arms of Purbalingga Regency, a visual representation of this region in Central Java, Indonesia. The centerpiece is a shield, a classic heraldic form that symbolizes protection, strength, and the ongoing effort to achieve goals.
The shield itself is a light blue, framed by a thick border representing the life-giving rivers and a scalloped light blue border which signifies a dynamic, ever-progressing community, much like flowing water. At the top, "PURBALINGGA" is prominently displayed in red on a white background, representing courage based on truth.
Within the shield, a wealth of symbolic imagery unfolds. A spear with eight points embodies authority and the wisdom of leadership. Radiating outwards are 237 rays of light, illustrating the widespread devotion of the populace across the regency's 237 villages and urban communities.
Additional elements highlight the region's identity and livelihood. A coconut tree, its name intertwined with the local word for sincerity, "lugu–glugu". Three banyan trees represent the strong shelter and the ancestral roots of the community. Completing the design are agricultural motifs: 17 cotton flowers, a cluster of 45 rice grains, a house with five floors, and eight andong leaves, all reflecting the region's prosperity, community structure, and agricultural fertility.
The combined imagery conveys Purbalingga's rich history, enduring community values, and aspirations for future prosperity and development.
