Seal of the City of Salatiga (Indonesia) T-Shirt: Design Overview
This T-shirt showcases the official Seal of the City of Salatiga (Lambang Kota Salatiga), a vibrant and symbolic emblem deeply rooted in the city's identity and history.
Shield Design
At the heart of the design is a blue shield, adorned with a variety of carefully chosen elements, each contributing to the rich narrative of Salatiga. At the top, the inscription "Salatiga" clearly identifies the emblem's origin.
Symbolic Elements
A prominent golden yellow five-pointed star ("Nur Cahaya") radiates from within the shield, symbolizing the faith and devotion of Salatiga's people. The design also features the "Sadak Kinang" motif, representing the region's fertility and strength.
Illustrations of the iconic Mount Telomoyo and Mount Merbabu are included to honor the city's natural landscape. A Ganesha statue, a significant cultural symbol, is also shown, acknowledging Salatiga’s role as an educational center.
Independence and History
The design incorporates elements that commemorate Indonesia's Independence Day. Seventeen rice grains and eight cotton flowers are included, representing the 17th of August. Additionally, a brick structure with four indentations and five protrusions symbolizes the year of independence (1945).
City Motto
Finally, a ribbon gracefully arches across the design, bearing the city’s motto: "Srir Astu Swasti Prajabhyah" ("May all the people be happy and safe"), encapsulating Salatiga’s aspiration for the well-being and unity of its people.
