Sûdwest-Fryslân Wapen Nieuw Hoodie: Design Description
This hoodie showcases the official coat of arms of the Dutch municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân, a region steeped in history and symbolic representation. The design is a bold heraldic composition, reflecting the area's rich heritage.
The Shield: A Divided Emblem
The central element is the shield, the heart of the design, divided into two distinct halves.
Dexter (Left Side): The Frisian Eagle
The left side of the shield, known as the dexter side, features a striking half Frisian eagle, rendered in black against a radiant gold (yellow) background. This iconic symbol pays homage to the historical heraldic traditions of Friesland, acknowledging its roots and continuity.
Sinister (Right Side): Crowns of Unity
The sinister side presents a deep blue field, adorned with five vertical silver (white) town wall crowns. Each crown is meticulously detailed in red and includes three bastions, symbolizing the fortified towns and the former municipalities that came together to form Súdwest-Fryslân. These crowns represent the historic rights, privileges, and the unity forged by these communities.
