Visual Elements & Composition

The sheet is built from cream paper and sepia ink, with the drawing set inside a ruled border. Faces, hands and costume carry the image. The figure at left wears a close-fitting hood that frames her face, and her hands and sleeve edges are finished in frills. The figure at right wears a frilled cap topped with a tall, ornately gathered headdress of loops and bows, and a drop earring is visible at her ear.
